Day 1 -Arrival & Transfer to Antigua – Antigua 2n

You will be met by our representative in Guatemala and transferred in a private vehicle to Antigua. (1hr). Upon your arrival you will receive a brief orientation to the country. Your afternoon will be free to allow you to settle in and walk around the city.

Your hotel, Posada de Don Rodrigo is an authentic colonial hotel in the heart of Antigua. Located in the famous “Street of the Arch” just 1 block from the main square it is close to all the main sites, shops and restaurants. The hotel is filled with colonial antiques and has lovely central gardens with fountains as well as a restaurant. Rooms are fairly spacious and nicely decorated with colonial antiques as for example authentic baroque carvings, carved furniture, fireplaces.

Day 2 -Architecture & History Tour & Azotea Coffee Farm, Maya Museum  – Antigua

Today you will have a half day walking tour of Antigua. (3-4hr). The tour starts in the main square, and you will see the Palace, Cathedral, La Merced Church & San Francisco Church. Entrances to these sites are included.

In the afternoon you will visit the local woodcarvers in the village of Jocotenango & then the fabulous Azotea Coffee Farm & Maya Traditions Museums covering traditional music, costume & traditions.

Day 3- Comalapa Market & Lake Atitlan  – Lake Atitlan 2N

This morning you will be transferred to visit the colorful authentic market at Comalapa (1hr) & enjoy a tour of the market, the famous local primitive painting galleries & the famous town mural. Transfer on to Lake Atitlan (2.5hr). Lunch included

Your accommodation, Hotel Atitlan is a well equipped hotel decorated in colonial style offering a beautiful location on the shores of Lake Atitlan. The hotel has beautiful gardens, inside and outside dining, a small pool, and bar. Its lakeshore location offers guests stunning views of the lake and her three surrounding volcanoes from most areas of the hotel. Just behind the hotel is the Reserva Atitlan which offers moderate hiking in cloud forest, a butterfly farm and zip line

Day 4- Lake Tour – San Juan & Santiago  – Lake Atitlan

This morning you will take a scenic boat ride across Lake Atitlan (30min) to the village of San Juan La Laguna where you will visit the women’s textile cooperative to see hand weaving and natural dye process. Also here visit the studios / homes of the celebrated naïf painters. From here, continue to the village of Santiago where you will have lunch in a local hotel and tour the village visiting the Maya God Maximon and learn about the textiles, spiritualism and beliefs of the T’zutujil Maya. Lunch included.

Day 5- Chichicastenango Market & Flight to Tikal area – Tikal Area 2N

Today you will transfer approx. 1hr to the famous market at Chichi. Time for shopping in this fabulous craft market and an opportunity to see Maya rituals being performed in the Catholic Church before transferring on to on to Guatemala City Airport (3hr) in time to catch the early evening flight to Flores. (45min) In Flores you will be met & transferred to your hotel in the rainforest. Lunch included

The Jungle Lodge is located inside the Tikal National Park in the Peten rainforest just at the entrance to the Maya Site of Tikal. It consists of individual cabins and a central restaurant / bar and pool. This is a good mid range hotel from where you can have easy access to the Tikal site for early morning or sunset visits and whilst at the lodge there is a good possibility of seeing a variety of birdlife as well as monkeys and other wildlife.

Day 6- Yaxha – Tikal Area

Today you will transfer to Yaxha National Park to explore this lesser visited, atmospheric site. You will enjoy the sights and sounds of the howler and spider monkeys as well as many colorful tropical birds and other mammals in this area which is rich with wildlife. A picnic lunch is provided on the shores of Lake Yaxha.

Day 7- Tikal  – Guatemala City 1N

Today you will transfer to Tikal National park (approx 1hr) to explore the amazing UNESCO protected Mayan Temple site of Tikal where huge Mayan temples rise above the jungle canopy and monkeys and tropical birds are abundant in the surrounding rainforest. After lunch, with time to relax and refresh, you will fly back to Guatemala City (30min) and transfer to your hotel (Approx 10min).

The Crowne Plaza Hotel is a very well located and safe hotel in Guatemala City, very close to the airport. The rooms are modern, comfortable and spacious. The hotel facilities include an outdoor pool, gym, spa, bar and restaurant. This hotel is really perfect for guests arriving to Guatemala City late in the evening or for guests who have to catch an early flight the next day.

After breakfast you will be picked up by your private driver and transferred  to the airport (approx 10mins) in plenty of time to catch your flight.
